Thoughts about Jiu-Jitsu and the Universe

Man, life is busy. I’ve been worried about being the best at something, but what I’ve realized is that that’s not really the point. I know that, but sometimes I forget. What I’m going to do with my academy is make it something I’m proud of, something that supports the students who train there. Who cares how they do against other schools? The people that train at West Side deserve great instruction, they deserve a great facility, and they deserve to train and learn with great people.

So that’s my job, three things 1) provide great instruction (whether it’s me or the instructors I choose to teach classes. 2) continue to improve the facilities (Logan and Ogden, which I really need to keep up with). 3) continue to attract, sign-up, and retain good people as students. That’s it. I’m going to focus on those three things and I’ll let you know how it turns out.
