thoughts from a jiu-jitsu company

As you can probably tell, this site is being changed—updated, renovated so to speak. What will it become? I have no idea, my friend Kipp, the wizard of the web, is helping me out with it. I’ll let the process mold the outcome.

That’s what happens to a lot of things we create. We have a vision—an outcome in mind, but when we start the process and work our way through to making that vision a reality, we usually have something different when all is said and done—usually we have something better.

The process of creating changes the outcome. I have no set outcome. Like in jiu-jitsu I usually don’t say I’m going to finish this guy in one minute with a collar choke. I let the training unfold. I let the process determine the outcome.

I might be getting a little philosophical in my explanation, so I better slow down. All I’m saying is sometimes our vision or goal changes while we’re trying to achieve it, and that’s okay, because usually what we end up with is better than our original vision.

Sometimes the process changes the vision.
